I made a new friend, Ericka Jambou. She was visiting the states for the first time on a journalism project from Brest, France recording street performers and musicians. I took her to my friend Nick's place in New Orleans and we roamed the streets and watched her work. One night we all got shit-faced and recorded a few songs together. Early one morning a few weeks later, working in my studio and trying to rub the sleep from my eyes, I wrote and recorded track one. I had no intention of writing it when I sat down at my board. Nick and I have been close friends almost all of my life. I don't ever write songs like this. I hope I won't do it it again. It's safe to say I won't, I think.
